    Hyderabad :  Acclaimed Market Strategist and Consumer Behaviour Expert Mrs. Rama Bijapurkar said that women are the biggest gainers in addition to the educated and the rich as a result of liberalization. She said that the power distance between women and the society is decreasing. The number of years of education of women is going up and the legal framework is empowering. Women are past the point of no return in terms of marching forward and represent a huge amount of social and cultural change. She was speaking at an interactive session organised by FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) – Hyderabad Chapter on “Women, Consumerism and Social Change” here at Hyderabad today.

    Addressing an exclusive gathering of about hundred women businesspersons and entrepreneurs of FLO, Mrs. Rama Bijapurkar, one of the India’s most respected and acclaimed Thought Leader on Market Strategy and Consumer Economy shared some of the points of her research for her forthcoming book “A Never before World”. She said that the rural and urban divide has blurred, vanished. With good road connectivity it has become one land mass. Consumerism and technology have liberated us a great deal, she opined.

    The session was organised to help FLO member get insights into the changes in the consumer markets in India informed Ms. Jyotsna Angara, Chairperson FLO Hyderabad Chapter. FICCI Ladies Organisation in association with British High Commission is organizing yet another interactive session on “Women: Untapped Drivers of Green Economic Growth?” with Baroness Sandip Verma, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, UK on September 7th at Hotel Taj Krishna, Hyderabad.

    Baroness Verma, will address the members of FLO and the audience and share her insights on Sustainable Green Business’ & Women Entrepreneurs, issues concerning Energy, Climate Change and the critical need for greater investments in women. She will also touch upon the Benefits of Gender Balance in Climate Change Mitigation Investments and Sustainable Energy Initiatives for women, informed Ms. Jyotsna Angara.
