UNICEF will conduct a nationwide survey on child trafficking in India. Data covering the first quarter of next year is expected to provide a baseline for addressing the problem. UNICEF India Representative Louis Georges Arsenault today said, inadequate availability of data is posing challenges in the fight against the scourge.
At an event in New Delhi which, for the first time, saw Honorary Consular Corps Diplomatique, HCCD, India and UNICEF partnering together to raise funds for programmes for children and women, Mr Arsenault said that UNICEF is working with state governments to prevent trafficking and exploitation of underage children.
