  • 25-Year-Old Man From Anantapur Donates Organs To Save 4 Lives

    Bengaluru:  25-year-old Kurakula Navateja, declared brain dead after a fatal fall from 1st floor, donated 4 of his organs to those in need in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

    Navateja, who was working as Business Auditor in Anantapur, was blessed with twin little daughters. He was visiting the newborns at his wife’s home on 09 April 2019, Tuesday at 6:30 PM when the incident occurred. 

    Navateja was moved to Bangalore for treatment and brain surgery. Despite commendable efforts by the doctors, he was declared brain dead.

    His family decided to donate the organs free of cost in Navateja’s memory.

    Navateja’s liver, kidneys, and heart valves were successfully harvested for transplant. His heart valves and one kidney was donated to Narayana Health Hospital, and one kidney to SPARSH.

    The process of organ donation and retrieval was coordinated by Jeeva Sarthakathe (Transplant Authority of Karnataka) Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka.
