    Published on October 24, 2011

A special CBI court in Delhiwill today take up the bail petitions of some of the accused in 2G spectrum case including DMK MP-Kanimozhi.

Earlier on Friday, the court framed charges against all the 17 accused including Kanimozhi and former Telecom Minister A Raja.

Kanimozhi is charged with cheating and criminal conspiracy read with criminal breach of trust.

The 2G judge said she was an active brain behind the operations of Kalaignar TV besides owning a 20 percent stake in the Channel.

The judge also said that payment of 200 crore rupees to Kalaignar TV by Dynamix Realty was not genuine business transaction and was more in the nature of gratification for granting 2G license to Swan Telecom.

Kanimozhi is in Tihar jail in New Delhi since her arrest in May.

The trial court, Delhi High Court and Supreme Court earlier rejected her bail pleas. The apex court directed her to approach the trial court for bail after the framing of charges.

Kanimozhi has sought bail on the ground that she needs to attend her young school going daughter.
