  • 7th Annual Convocation “Dishant” held at JK Business School

    New Delhi : JK Business School (JKBS), Gurgaon, one of the premier business schools in the country, organized its 7th Annual Convocation 2015 “Dishant” at their Gurgaon campus recently. 93 students received their Post Graduate Diplomas. The graduating 7th-Annual-Convocation-heldstudents belong to two batches of PGDM – 2012-14 & 2013-15. Of the seven medals for excellence in academics, five were bagged by girls.

    Mr. P. Balaji, Director, Vodafone India Ltd. and Dr. P. V. Gupta, Member, Advisory Committee, MDU, Rohtak and Former Director, Thapar University, Patiala were the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour respectively on the occasion.

    Delivering the Convocation address, Chief Guest, Mr. P Balaji, Director Vodafone spoke of his experiences after his graduating from IIM Ahmadabad. He encouraged the students to think out of the box and understand the nuances of business globally. “Today is a different world where opportunities are plenty, so creating a strong bond is very crucial for individual’s growth to stay connected and build the network of your own world” said Mr. Balaji. He complimented JKBS for its efforts in producing such quality managers and also suggested of never losing an opportunity to experiment and explore, as the impact we create now will be remembered by the society.

    The programme commenced by invoking Goddess Saraswati – the Goddess of knowledge and learning. This was followed by visually captivating recount of the events of the two years of the graduating batches. The graduating students also took an oath of ethical corporate practices before receiving their diplomas.

    The Guest of Honour, Prof VP Gupta, Dr. P. V. Gupta, Member, Advisory Committee, MDU, Rohtak and Former Director, Thapar University, Patiala blessed the young managers and said, “I feel privileged to be a part of this ceremony and truly believe that it is the faculty led by dynamic JKBS team that will create the best possible leaders in the near future where success will always follow you wherever you go.”

    Students who excelled in academics were also honoured. The Gold Medals for standing first in the 2012-14 batch were awarded to two students – Ms. Neha Deoria and Ms. Priyanka; while Ms. Shambhavi Singh received the gold medal for 2013-15 batch.  The Silver Medal was awarded to Mr. Aman Dhyani (2013-15) and the Bronze to   Ms. Vidhushi, Ms. Ankita Arora (both 2012-14) and Mr. Ramakant Mahawar (2013-15).

    Dr. Sanjiv Marwah, Director at JKBS presented the report covering the academic and other achievements of JKBS. He spoke about the stress on excellence in all spheres of the activities at JKBS, the achievement of the students and the effort of the high-class faculty and the Staff to make JKBS a widely reputed Business School.

    He also said, “Given the high quality of pass-outs from JKBS, leading Corporates flock to JKBS for campus recruitment of its students”. He also spoke about the very good response to the three undergraduate courses – BBA, B Com (Hons) and BA Economics (Hons) which have commenced this year.“

    The event ended with the Vote of thanks followed by National Anthem and planting of saplings.
