UAE : Nepal’s Tourism Minister Lokendra Bista Magar was detained at Abu Dhabi airport in UAE for a couple of hours. This happened when the minister was detained when he landed on transit while flying to Germany on Monday.

Media reports say the minister was questioned by the immigration officials at the airport for traveling to Berlin without required visa. Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Arjun Bahadur Thapa admitted there was a lapse but denied Mr. Magar’s detention.

The Minister in Abu Dhabi for the last two days . The Nepal Embassy officials are getting the required travel documents for him to travel to Germany. He is expected to leave later today.

The Minister who was traveling on a diplomatic passport did not have the required travel documents with him which was not noticed during his departure from Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu when he left on Monday.
