In Punjab, government agencies and private millers procured about 90 lakh tonnes of wheat. A government spokesman said in Chandigarh that out of total procurement of wheat in all 1750 procurement centres of state, Government agencies procured 88 lakh tonnes. Punjab Government agency, MARKFED is leading with about 20 lakh tons of wheat purchase. Central government agency FCI has procured 15 lakh 57 thousand tons of wheat. District Sangrur is leading in procurement
