Up: In Uttar Pradesh, 618 candidates have been left in the fray for 52 assembly seats after the last date of withdrawal of ​nominations for the fifth phase ended yesterday. Polling for the fifth phase will be held on the 27th of this month.

In a press release, Chief Electoral Officer T Venkatesh said, that under this phase the highest number of candidates is 24 for Amethi seat, while the lowest number is 6 for Kapilvastu and Itwa seats. The CEO said that for the sixth phase, a total of 439 candidates have filed nomination till now, for which today is the last date.
