  • President Kovind reaches Da Nang in Vietnam on first leg of his two-nation visit

    President Ram Nath Kovind today reached Da Nang in Vietnam on the first leg of his two-nation visit. Mr Kovind is being accompanied by a high-level delegation. During his stay, the President will hold talks with the Vietnamese leadership. AIR correspondent reports, the President’s visit is part of India’s continuing and growing engagement with countries in Indo-Pacific region.
    The president has reached Da Nang as a part of his three day visit to Vietnam.Da Nang has rich historical and civilizational connection with India. Tommorow President is scheduled to visit My son in Da Nang which is famous for its world heritage site. It has remnants of Buddhist connections and the Hindu Cham civilization in the form of Ancient Temples.
    India is helping Vietnam in the preservation and conservation of some of these temples. It may be recalled that President Ram Nath Kovind is visiting Vietnam on the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Phu Trong who has been elected as President last month itself.
    On the second leg of his visit, Mr Kovind will reach Australia on Wednesday. He will meet the Australian leadership and address students of Melbourne University.
