Election Commission of India (ECI) reviewed the preparations for Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra yesterday. Election Commissioners Ashok Lavasa and Sushil Chandra and state chief electoral officer Ashwani Kumar were present at a meeting held in Mumbai.

The ECI team is on a two-day visit to Maharashtra. The team met senior state administration and election officials and also sought inputs from registered political parties.

At yesterday’s review meeting, officials discussed Matters regarding the preparation of the voters list, distribution of voter IDs, expenditure schedule and requirement as well as security measures such as a requirement of CRPF columns were discussed in the meeting.

The ECI team is expected to meet divisional commissioners, district collectors and SPs today.
