  • Maharashtra BJP unit calls statewide agitation against increased electricity bill

    Published on November 23, 2020

The Maharashtra unit of Bhartiya Janata Party today called a statewide agitation against the increased electricity bill.

At Mahadula in Nagpur on Monday morning, in the presence of former state energy minister and BJP general secretary Chandrasekhar Bavankule, activists raised slogans against the Mahavikas Aghadi government and burnt copies of electricity bills.

Speaking to reporters, Bawankule said that the promise made by the state government to waive the electricity bill of domestic customers up to 100 units and to waive the arrears of electricity bills during 4 months of corona lockdown has proved to be a fallacy.

Bavankule also said that the BJP would not allow any customer to be disconnected with power supply due to arrears.

Similar agitations were also held in Kandivli, Dadar, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Akola, Chandrapur, Parbhani, Wasim, Kolhapur, Palghar, Nasik, Dhule, Sindhudurg, Pune, Buldhana, Ahmadnagar.
