  • The employees of the oil company abducted by ULFA and NSCN sought to ensure their safe return from the chief Minister of Bihar and Assam. ULFA demands 20 crore from oil company.

    GUWAHATI : On 20 December 2020, gunmen ULFA and NSCN kidnapped two employees working in the oil company in Changlong district of Arunachal Pradesh. ULFA-Independent has released videos of two abducted employees of private oil company Quipo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Ltd. abducted from Kumchikha hydrocarbon drilling site in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

    The videos are being sent from an unknown place inside Myanmar. Both the abducted persons-radio operator Ram Kumar (35) and drilling superintendent Pranab Kumar Gogoi (51) are being held captive by ULFA-Independent and NSCN for about a month. In two videos released by ULFA-Independent, two abducted oil employees are being seen pleading with the concerned State Governments of Bihar and Assam to arrange for their safe return. Bihar-residing Ram Kumar urged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to take up the matter with Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and ensure his safe return. In his video message, Ram Kumar said, “I would like to request Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to talk to the chief Minister of Assam for my safe return. On the other hand, Pranab Kumar Gogoi, a resident of Assam, said: “As Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal himself, I should arrange to return home safely. The organization has reportedly demanded 20 crore from the oil company.
