    Guwahati: With an effort to reach out to the youth and consult them for their ideas for a better tomorrow, the first India Youth 20 (Y20) Foundation Meeting 2023 under G20, is starting in Guwahati on February 6. B Narayanan, Director General, North Eastern Region, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Ms. Mita Rajeevlochan, Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Kalyan Chakraborty, Principal Secretary, Government of Assam and Prof. Parameshwara K Iyer, Director, IIT Guwahati were present on the occasion.

    Youth Affairs Secretary Mita Rajeevlochan has highlighted five themes of Y20 that are to be discussed at the three-day event, which are, The Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation and the 21st Century; Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction: Creating Sustainability as a Way of Life; Peacebuilding and Reconciliation: The Beginning of an Era of No War; Shared Futures: Youth in Democracy and Governance; Health, wellbeing and sport: Agendas for youth.He said that each theme resonates with people in different parts of the country and each region has its own perspectives on these topics and that is the reason for spreading the consultation across the country. Talking about the panel discussions scheduled to be held on February 7 at IIT Guwahati, he said the renowned speakers will discuss a very relevant topic on the Northeast which is peacebuilding and reconciliation. He said since the Northeast has a history of insurgency and the subject is very relevant for the people of Assam and the entire Northeast. Two surrendered rebels from ULFA and NDFB will also participate in the panel discussion.
