The Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will pay a state visit to Myanmar this week. According to an official announcement, Mr Abe will arrive in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday for a three-day visit.
He will be the first Japanese Prime Minister to visit Myanmar in 36 years. Mr Abe is expected to hold talks with President U Thein Sein on strengthening bilateral relations. Economic cooperation between the two countries is also likely to come up for discussions
