New Delhi : The annual Economic Survey 2011-12 will be tabled in Parliament today. The survey will be given an overview of the Indian economy and reflects on its strength and weaknesses alongwith indications for the future.

The Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is to table the survey in the Lok Sabha after the question hour today. The economic survey will deal in depth on the different sectors of the economy including agriculture, industry and services.

The survey assumes significance in the backdrop of the global economic slowdown, high international oil prices and falling domestic investment.

It is also likely to focus on the ways and means for India to achieve double digit GDP growth and also move ahead with economic reforms. The economic survey is tabled in Parliament a day before the presentation of union budget 2012-13.
