  • Anti-Taliban tribal elder, 5 others killed in Pak bomb blast

    Six people including an anti-Taliban tribal elder were killed and five others injured in a bomb blast in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region on Saturday.

    The roadside bomb was exploded near the vehicle of members of the anti-Taliban peace committee at Ghalanai, the centre of Mohmand agency.

    The peace committee members were on routine patrolling when came under attack.

    A doctor at the Agency’s headquarters hospital said one injured was in critical condition.

    One security personnel was also among those killed, an official said.

    Last month, suicide bomber killed nearly 105 people in Mohmand agency.

    Taliban had claimed responsibility for that attack.

    Pakistan government has formed peace committees or ‘lashkar’ against the Taliban-linked militants.

    Local tribesmen are members of the committee. In some areas, these peace committees also take action against the militants.

    Meanwhile, in another incident, suspected militants blew up a school in the tribal region of Darra Adam Khel.
