In Afghanistan at least 15 Taliban insurgents were killed in a joint operation of Afghan and Nato force in Sherzar district of eastern Nangarhar province last night. An International Joint Command release issued in Kabul today says the operation was launched to locate insurgents and their weapons and disrupt their supply line across western Nangarhar. According to the release the Joint Force attempted to capture the individuals peacefully, but was met with hostile fire. A series of engagements followed, resulting in the death of more than 15 insurgents. In other operations, Joint force arrested several Taliban insurgents and their supporters in Kandhar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Helmand, Paktia and Khost provinces and recovered weapons and ammunitions from their possession.
