  • At least 27 passengers injured in a train accident in Odisha

    In Odisha , at least 27 passengers have been injured in a train accident near Sikir Railway Station. It occurred about 7 km from Titlagarh railway station in Balangir district late on Tuesday night. The accident took place when a goods train coming from opposite direction was derailed and hit the 18108 Koraput-Rourkela Express damaging 3 bogies including the engine of the passenger train. The East Coast Railway officials have, however, confirmed that there has been no casualty in the accident. The seriously injured are being treated at the nearby Titlagarh Hospital. A rescue train carrying senior railway officials and attendants reached the accident place. A number of trains have been cancelled following the accident.
