In Bangladesh , Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday informed the Parliament that a special envoy will be send to India to get details on the Tipaimukh project.
She said this while replying to a question by a member of parliament in the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Wednesday afternoon.
Sheikh Hasina said following reports in the media about the Tipaimukh project, the foreign ministry has been asked to send a letter to India seeking information and she herself was also sending a special envoy to India . She also asserted that her government will do everything to protect the country’s interest.
Leader of the opposition and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stressing on the need to conduct a joint survey on the Tipaimukh project.
