    Published on January 17, 2011

The leader of the Israeli Labour Party Ehud Barak is to announce his resignation from the Party to form a new political group. The move will enable Mr Barak, the former Israeli Prime Minister, to stay in Israel’s right wing coalition government. Mr Barak is leading breakaway group including four other Labour Parliamentarians. It remains unclear what effect the move will have on Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, which retains its majority.
