  • Best-Selling Book Answers Important Questions About LASIK

    Published on June 19, 2018

Undergoing LASIK eye surgery can be a frightening proposition—after all, we are only given one pair of eyes.  In their new book, which has hit #1 Amazon Kindle Best-Seller status in Ophthalmology, Eye Problems, and Lasers in Medicine, One Eye or Two?  Insider Secrets to Help You Choose the Right Lasik Surgeon, Dr. John C. Meyer and Mark M. Prussian answer some important questions people should consider before undergoing LASIK.

Some of the questions the book answers include:

    • Is wavefront optimized LASIK better than standard LASIK?
    • What is the difference between LASIK with a blade and bladeless LASIK?
    • What is involved in an all-laser LASIK eye surgery?
    • What is the difference between types of lasers used in LASIK surgery?
    • What should you do to prepare for LASIK?
    • What happens after LASIK?
    • How to choose a LASIK surgeon?
    • What factors affect the cost of LASIK?
    • When does LASIK re-treatment become necessary, and what are the possible complications?

Dr. Meyer says, “When considering having LASIK, as is the case with any surgical procedure, it’s important to make sure you are well-informed about the procedure, how it is performed, and the potential risks associated with that procedure.”  He adds, “It’s also imperative that you take the time to find a surgeon with the right amount of experience and whom you feel comfortable having perform your procedure.”

After reading One Eye or Two, readers are armed with the knowledge they need to make a responsible decision about LASIK eye surgery and who will perform it.  It is Meyer and Prussian’s hope that this book will serve as a vital resource for patients.
