  • Campus Orientation Programme at Heritage Institute of Technology focused on “Make in India”

    Today (3rd August 2015) COMPASS 2015, the campus orientation programme of Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata (HITK) was organized which was inaugurated by Prof. A.S.Kolaskar, Vice-chancellor, The Neotia University as the Chief Guest. Prof. 11781865_872977776082623_85Kolaskar was welcomed by Shri P.R.Agarwalla, Chairman, Heritage Institute along with the Principal of Heritage Institute, Dr. Pranay Chaudhuri, Executive Director of Kalyan Bharti Trust (KBT) Shri Probir Roy, Advisor of KBT, Prof. B.B.Paira, and Chief Executive Officer of KBT, Shri P.K.Agarwal. The programme started with lighting of the lamp and a Vedic chant by Swami Vedajnannandaji, Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, HITK. Prof. Kolaskar motivated the new batch of B.Tech students by inspiring them to focus more on values, creativity and ethics which are very much important to become good human beings. He also stressed on the fact that innovation is very much necessary in the present scenario and our goals should be focused on the welfare of the country. Prof. Kolaskar also elaborated the concept of “Make in India” which is a major new National Programme designed to transform India into a Global Manufacturing Hub. The session was also contributed significantly by the Chairman of Heritage Institute, Shri P.R.Agarwalla where he spoke on the necessity of becoming good citizens of our country which is vital for the new B.Tech students.

    Later on Mr. Clayton Moses, the Academic Advisor of Heritage Institute gave a presentation to the new students on “Opportunities at The Heritage campus”. More than 1000 students and faculty members attended the orientation programme which will continue till tomorrow (4th August 2015).
