  • CBI examines assets of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in Hyderabad

    The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday examined the assets of Kadapa Lok Sabha Member Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in Hyderabad in the alleged disproportionate assets case against him.

    A team of officials visited the residence of Jaganmohan Reddy, son of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, for evaluating the cost of his house. Following directions from Andhra Pradesh High Court, the CBI had registered a case against Jaganmohan Reddy under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act pertaining to cheating, criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust.

    AIR Correspondent reports, a team of CBI officials Thursday morning visited Jaganmohan Reddy’s Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad in connection with the illegal assets case against him.

    The team also include some Municipal officials to evaluate the cost of his house. As part of its investigation, the CBI earlier issued notices to the Municipal officials pertaining to the cost of the house.

    The CBI had taken up the probe into the alleged disproportionate assets that the Kadapa Lok Sabha Member acquired by doing favours to some companies through conspiracy when his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

    Earlier, based on the petitions filed by State Textile Minister P Shankar Rao and Telugu Desam Party leader Yerrannaidu, the Andhra Pradesh High Court had directed the CBI to conduct a detailed probe into the alleged corrupt practices of the MP.
