  • Chhattisgarh: Maoists attack ITBP camp; Fire rockets, open heavy gunfire

    New Delhi ; In Chhattisgarh, Maoists attacked a camp of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force – ITBP in Kondagaon district of tribal Bastar division early this morning. No casualties were reported.

     

    Maoists fired rockets and opened heavy gunfire at a camp. The attack was launched at the company base of the 41st battalion of the ITBP in Ranapal area. More than 100 maoists surrounded the camp from three sides and fired four rockets inside the camp.

     

    After the attack heavy gunfight broke out between security forces and Maoists. More than 600 rounds of ammunition were fired from both sides. Later Maoists retreated in the jungles. A search operation is currently under way.
