  • CrackVerbal conducts “The MBA Summit” to Inspire and Inform Bangalore’s MBA aspirants

    Published on April 12, 2016

Bangalore : The MBA Summit is an annual MBA event conducted by CrackVerbal. Through this event, MBA aspirants are connected with industry experts and MBA-Summit-1successful students with MBA admits, to help them build the relationships and expertise that they need to make it to top MBA schools around the globe.

The 2016 edition of the MBA summit was conducted on the 10th of April, at Hotel Nahar Heritage in Bangalore.

The event kicked off with a panel discussion on post-MBA career opportunities. The panel comprised alumni of ISB and NUS representing  all major post-MBA careers – consulting, product management, marketing and finance.

This was followed by a session on how to marry an MBA with technology thought-leadership, conducted by Sudhakar Kuckian, Purdue Krannert alumnus and Senior Director at Neo Group.

Next, Rakshit, an alumnus of the prestigious Columbia university and co-founder of the startup DropKaffe, spoke about the value of a global MBA and how the right connections in the alumni network can continue to reap rich benefits throughout one’s career.

CrackVerbal students Rituparna, Aayam, Rakshaki and Sachin, who are going to ISB, IIM B and Terry School of Business later this year, participated in a very informative panel discussion on how MBA aspirants can plan their application journey to maximise their chances of admits and scholarships.

Next followed some insights about the other side, so to speak – ‘When not to do an MBA’. CrackVerbal students, Deepak and Neeraj, spoke about why they decided to pursue an MIS rather than an MBA.

Late evening on Sunday at Nahar Heritage saw a satisfied crowd of 130 aspirants, richer by far in MBA gyaan. Said one attendee at the event, “Google searches can only take you so far. Though they give you a very good general overview of the application process, you do not often get personal and genuine perspectives. This summit has really helped me because I got to connect with real students who spoke about real experiences. I now feel much more ready to apply to colleges later this year!”

Says Arun Jagannathan, founder of CrackVerbal, “ There are a huge number of MBA aspirants looking for trusted opinions from people who have already walked the MBA path – and there are many seasoned professionals with MBAs ready and willing to share their experiences. But, there is no platform today that connects these two groups of people. The MBA Summit is an effort to create this platform.

One more intent behind our summit, is to encourage MBA aspirants to take a step back and look at the bigger picture -post-MBA employment, ROI of an MBA, the ‘right’ reasons for pursuing an MBA –  before they get caught up in a whirlwind of  details such as GMAT scores, deadlines, letters of recommendation and so forth.
