The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has fully backed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who has ordered a judicial probe into the alleged custodial death of a National Conference activist Mohammad Yousuf Shah on 30th September.

Senior Cabinet Minister from Congress Taj Mhiuddin said that immediately after Shah’s death, a cabinet meeting was called by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Abdullah had informed the cabinet of the details of the incident and took the cabinet into confidence about ordering of a judicial probe by a sitting judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.

Mohiuddin said the cabinet fully believed the Chief Minister had nothing to hide.

The ruling National Conference has accused the opposition party of enacting the entire drama to unseat the coalition government.

Meanwhile, Omar Abdullah has said Public Services Guarantee Act will help streamline delivery of public services and reduce corruption in lower levels of administration.

The state government recently notified 45 services in six departments of Public Health Engineering, Power, CAPD, Revenue, Housing and Transport under the PSGA so that these services can be provided to people within the prescribed time frame.
