  • Dy Police Commissioner among three officials suspended in Kerala

    Thiruvananthapuram : In Kerala, three police officials including a Deputy Police Commissioner have been suspended for registering case against women devotees who participated in Pongala ritual at Aattukal Devi temple last Wednesday. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has clarified that no direction was given to the state police to file any case. Director General of Police also said that Aattukal Pongala ritual does not come under the purview of recent High Court verdict banning wayside meetings.

    Meanwhile, on the unusual development, Deputy Leader of Opposition, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan alleged that the Chief Minister has lost control over the Home department.
