  • Educomp Foundation organizes closing ceremony of “GYAN KOSH” – the first phase of “Adult Education for Rural Women” at Jaitpur Village

    Gautam Budha Nagar: Educomp Foundation, an initiative of Educomp Solutions Ltd. to provide quality education the people in Inauguration-of-the-closingrural and semi-urban areas, in partnership with Generation Nxt Group of Delhi, today organized a closing ceremony of its five months certificate course of Adult Education for Rural Women program.

    Christened “GYAN KOSH”, this initiative is an extension of the on-going village development plan-“MERA GAON, MERI JIMMEDARI” which focuses on supporting primary education, women empowerment, health care, computer literacy drive and skilling initiatives at Jaitpur village, Greater Noida by the Educomp Foundation. Gyan-Kosh was a pilot project for spreading awareness and literacy drive for rural women in village Jaitpur.

    Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sushi Singh, CEO, Educomp Foundation said, “After 5 months of course delivery, which was aligned with the government adult education drive, we are delighted to see at least 45 women out of 75 were completely ready to take up formal examination conducted by us as well as at the district level. The Basic Siksha Adhikari, Uttar Pradesh has agreed to give them certificate once they pass their examination.”

    The project also undertook a series of heath care workshops such as self breast examination workshop, oral hygiene workshop, eye check up camp and digital literacy camp. “What has been most satisfying for us is that the Educomp Foundation-Generation Nxt Group initiative has been successful in bringing about a change in the community, making women in the village confident enough to talk about their rights as well as health and social issues openly,” added Dr. Singh.

    Mr. A.K. Singh, MD Generation Nxt Group said, “We are proud to partner Educomp Foundation in their initiatives at Jaitpur Village. The women empowerment program to achieve the overall goal of village development plan is another step to achieve our joint objective of making Jaitpur a model village. To reach this goal, we will continue to support and extend our reach and impact in the coming years in and around contiguous identified areas of NCR and other states. ”

    Generation NXT Group is the key sponsor for this project and will be providing second phase facilities of advanced training as well.

    The closing ceremony was presided over by Chief Guest Ms. Renu Sharma, Chairperson National Entrepreneur Committee (Industry Cell) while the Guests of Honour included Mr. Manoj Kumar Verma and Mr. Ashok Singh, Block Education Officers for Gautam Budh Nagar, Greater Noida.

    Special Guests included Dr. M. Shahzad Husain, Officating Director, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, Mr. A.K. Singh, MD Generation Nxt Group, Ms. Neha Jain-Director Himalayan IT Solution.

    Others present on the occasion included principals from 4 different village schools and volunteers from Educomp Foundation.

    Certificates were awarded to women who completed the certificate course and they also presented a song for their guests.

    An Eye Check-up Camp, sponsored by Mahavir International for all registered women, their families and students of 4 village schools was also organized on the occasion. A demonstration of self defense technique by Educomp Foundation trained adolescent and young village women was also organized followed by a street play that gave out a clear  message that educating a girl child is educating a nation.
