  • Chennai : Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology (LICET), an organisation conducting its Engineering Education at Loyola Campus under the collaboration of Loyola College Society and ICAM, a French Jesuit Institution in France today conducted its First Graduation Day at Bertram Hall, Loyola Campus. Graduation certificates to 191 Graduates were conferred by the Chief LoyolaGuest, His Excellency Philippe Janvier-Kamiyama, Consul General of France in Pondicherry in the presence of Rev Provincial Fr Dr Sebasti Raj, Chennai Mission Superior, Rev Fr Dr Jabamalai, Rev Fr Rector Dr Francis Jayapathy, Director of LICET Rev Fr Dr Francis P. Xavier, Principal, Dr Jose Swaminathan, Dean, Rev Fr John Pragasam and senior members from the institution.

    LICET was started with its first batch of students in 2010 in affiliation with Anna University and its counseling code no.1450. In the first batch itself Loyola students have secured two Ranks of Anna University.

    LICET has already signed an Educational Collaboration MOUs with six renowned universities of five countries namely: 1) Louis University, U.S.A 2) Heilbourn University, Germany 3) Comillas University, Spain 4) FU Jen Catholic University, Taiwan 5) American University of Sovereign Nations, U.S.A. and 6) UNESCO, Bangkok

    The first batch students have graduated in 2014 and 191 students received their graduation degrees. Rev Provincial Fr Dr Sebasti Raj and Rev Fr Rector Dr Francis Jayapathy felicitated the graduates and wished them a fabulous future.

    The Chief Guest Consul General Philippe Janvier-Kamiyama delivered the Graduation Day Address. In his message he commended Loyola College Society to have joint venture with ICAM to help contribute to the expertise in the academic excellence of the students there by moulding them for professional success.

    Collaboration with ICAM, Lille, France with its five pillar frame work namely Anna University curriculum, Professionalism, Personal Development, International exposure and God Quotient has evolved LICET as one of the most sought after institutions having an edge over other institutions in Chennai. In today’s un-employability scenario of engineering graduates, LICET’s pedagogy comes in handy to bridge the gap between the institution and industry.
