Ø  Mr. BEN TO DELIVER A LECTURE ALONG WITH EDUCATIONAL DOCUMENTARY ON NASA AND VARIOUS INTER-ACTIVE PROGRAMS

Ø  MAKING OF ASSEMBLED AERO PLANE & ITS FLYING DEMO ON SAME DAY

Ø  FREE PARTICIPATION IN SEMINAR BY STUDENTS OF IFFS & OTHER  SCHOOLS

Ø  LAST DATE FOR REGISTRATION 5/2/2014 FOR LIMITED 100 STUDENTS ON FIRST CUM FIRST SERVE BASIS BASED ON QUIZ CONTEST.

With a vision to develop global outlook for students, India First Foundation School (IFFS), Karjat has invited Mr. Ben Nikaido, an Aerospace Scientist belonging to (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) “NASA Ames Research Center” of USA to visit India. Mr. Ben will be visiting India very soon as a result of acceptance of the invitation. He will spend one full day on FRIDAY, 14th February 2014 at IFFS, Karjat along with select students & other well-known dignitaries.

The schedule of visit along with other dignitaries will be as under:

Highlights of the day’s program:

A.  Introductory talk and slide show by Mr. Ben Nikaido

B. An educational documentary on NASA chosen by the scientist

C. A discussion on the above facilitated by Mr. Ben Nikaido.

D. Quiz contest for students based on Astrophysics

E. Hands on activity for students

F. Commencement of project to make model Airplane by IFFS under guidance from:

1. Dr. J.J. Rawal, President, Indian Planetary Society and well known Astronomy         Scientist.

2. Dr. Krishnasastry, well known scientist working with NCCS, Pune.

3. Mr. Ben Nikaido, Scientist from NASA Ames Research Center.

4. Mr. Rahul Mav, Masters in Aerospace Engineering from Stanford University and winner of best aero plane making competition from 69 countries (through skype from USA).

5.  Mr. Manish Kedia, parent of existing student of IFFS.

G. Concluding comments by Mr. Ben Nikaido and declaration of award to winners of quiz contest.

During the event, Dr. Krishnasastry, well known scientist of NCCS, Pune will assemble an Aero plane and demonstrate its flying.

In order to broaden the benefit of visit of Mr.Ben Nikaido to even select students of other schools, IFFS, Karjat has invited participation from other schools by writing a letter to their principals, asking them to send two students, one girl and a boy from co-educational schools and two girls and two boys from girls and boys schools, chosen from Grades VIII, IX and X. They should be accompanied by one teacher.  Their participation will be free of cost.

Last date for registration will be 5/2/2014 and it will be limited up to 100 students on first cum first serve basis based on quiz contest.

Even Teachers can attend the program with the students since morning (as it is a day long program) and parents can join them in the concluding session.
