Hyderabad:ALL Ladies League (ALL) organized a Seminar cum Interactive Session on “Strategic Supremacy: How you can Create Growth, Wealth and Power through Spheres of Influence” with Prof. Richard D’Aveni, Professor of Strategy, Ivy-League Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College here in city on Sunday till late evening at Hotel Taj Deccan

Well over 200 plus business captains, socialites participated in the interactive session organsied by ALL Ladies League, the  first-of-its-kind international women chamber which works to connect women from all spheres of the society in a common sisterhood.

Power and Money has gone to China because of its ability to produce goods in mass.  With 3-D printing really ushering in a new era, it will very soon change the World the way goods are manufactured in mass scale.  With 3D printing around, mass customization is also possible.  China will have to give up on being the mass-manufacturing powerhouse of the world. The strategy that has given it such political heft won’t serve it in the future, observed DR. Richard D’Aveni. .

A highly sought after adviser and speaker, D’Aveni who  addressed audiences all over the world, including the World Economic Forum’s Annual Summit at Davos, Switzerland; and in the French Senate in Paris shared many interesting developments in this area.  He spoke at length on 3D Printing and Manufacturing.  Industrial scale 3D printers have for a long time now threatened to change the face of traditional assembly line manufacturing.  Though started small,  it has really kicked-off the revolution.

Google’s Project Ara, as it’s called, will create a line of highly-customizable, modular smart phones that offer consumers both functional and aesthetic choices on their device.  Google and 3D Systems to print millions, of smart phone modules for Google’s Project Ara. Project Ara has received a lot of media attention over the last several months, as Google sets out to change the way smart phones are made and sold. Having said this, I think the bigger story within the story, is the fact that 3D Systems will be using an entirely new mass manufacturing system, which will rely almost solely on 3D printing Prof. Richard said.

3D printing can be used to supply highly customized products on demand to local geographies. But, it might be a while before this reality comes to pass Prof. Richard informed.

Speaking about the vision of Indian Prime Minister Modi making India a manufacturing hub he said Modi has good vision.  Don’t’ replicate low cost production and compete with China. Because mass manufacturing will end very soon.  People will print or make every product at home in next ten years, he said.  So he said What Vision India want? Do you want to replicate China or join USA in next revolution.

People will download their products instead of visiting stores, manufacture and supply chains will be a thing of the past. Said Dr. Richard

Nearly 100 per cent of hearing aids in America are customized to each person’s ear and are produced using 3D Technology.   You may not have thought hearing aids could be made from the process of 3D printing, but it’s true. In fact, it’s not new and existing  for years in making custom fit hearing aids. Thanks to the increased precision of the process whereby products like hearing aids are built up instead of cut away with tools. Its reach extends to all sorts of technologies, from manufacturing to jewelry to electronics, but it’s especially helpful in the development of custom hearing aids. Due to this technology a customized hearing aid that suits the ear of the person can be made at the clinic within 24 hours he said.

Watson an artificially intelligent computer system capable of answering questions posed in natural language will again change the whole world.  It will be a super computer in your hands fitted in a tiny box. It can make robots go out of their jobs.  This system can diagnosis and suggest a good treatment is considered to be the most accurate.  This will enable less trained hospital nurses treat thousands of patients.  Doctors resources and efforts can be preserved for more complicated treatments he informed.

Winning on your industry’s playing filed demands a special kind of power–the power not only to stake out your own turf on the filed, but also to influence the positioning and maneuvering of your rivals. This power gives you the ability to define the playing field as a way to conquer chaos and fashion a favorable world. I have labeled this power: Strategic Supremacy”, Prof Richard informed.

The event was graced by the presence of, H. E. Mr. Michael Mullins, United States Consul General who was the Guest of Honor at the seminar. While addressing the gathering he appreciated ALL for organizing such an intellectual talk and highlighted the need for equal women participation in the world.  He added that the deep insight of ace strategist Prof. Richard D’Aveni will certainly make a huge difference in improving world economy.

Two months ago India became the largest country to have the highest number of its students studying in United States of America he said.

Dr. Harbeena Arora, Global Chairperson of ALL who set the tone prior to the beginning of the Interactive Session said, “Today, India and all of us are poised at a strategic moment in time – one as significant as the dawn of our Independence and one that can change in fundamental ways the way we live and think.  What is critically required in such times is a strategic shift in our thinking process, and a new entrepreneurial mindset to chart out our path of growth and influence”.

India is one of the fastest growing economies and deep insights from experts like Prof. D’Aveni help us all to grow, said Dr. Harbeena. Mahatma Gandhi, George Washington have faced the mighty British empire with their strategic thinking, Dr. Harbeen said.

Jayesh Ranjan while addressing the gathering said many companies use strategies to set goals.  Strategy generally involves setting goals, determining actions to achieve the goals, and mobilizing resources to execute the actions.  Strategy is very important, he said.

Richard D’Aveni was on his maiden visit to the city.  Besides Hyderabad, he is also addressing in cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Jaipur and Vadodara.

Richard is one of the foremost experts in the world on competitive strategy at multiple levels of competition: individuals, teams, corporations, militaries, governments, spheres of influence/alliances, and even competition between capitalist systems. He is the author of numerous articles in academic journals, Harvard Business Review, The Financial Times of London, The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and the MIT Sloan Management Review.

His writings are credited with creating a new paradigm in the field of strategic management based on temporary advantages employing principles of rapid and aggressive maneuvering and innovation rather than on defensive barriers to entry and power over buyers and suppliers.

His most recent book, “Strategic Capitalism: The New Economic Strategy for Winning the Capitalist Cold War”, was published in September 2012. This book discusses the differences in American and Chinese forms of capitalism, how the Chinese system has flipped many American advantages into disadvantages, and how America might respond. The book has caught the attention of many international presses such as Forbes, Fortune, Washington Post etc. It has also prompted discussions at the V-pactcom, a women-only job portal was also launched at the event by Founder, Ms. ShilpaRao.

All Ladies League Hyderabad Chapter has over 70 members. ALL has 20 Chapters in India –Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata to name a few and internationally it has 19 Chapters-Paris, Washington D.C, London et al.
