The Government has accepted the resignation of Solictor General Gopal Subramanium. He resigned after he was upset over appointment of a private advocate for representing the government in the 2G spectrum case.
Official sources said Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has accepted the resignation. After taking over as Law Minister, Mr. Salman Khurshid had said that he will take a decision only after consulting the Prime Minister. Mr Subramanium was appointed the Solicitor General on June 15, 2009 for a three-year term.
