Govt plans to use solid waste for power generation

Government plans to use solid waste for generating power in the country. Five projects are proposed to be set up in the initial phase.
In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah stated that two projects are already under installation in Delhi and Bangalore.
The projects are being constructed under the Build, Own, Operate and Transfer, BOOT basis.
