New Delhi: Government has said, it will respond in a co-ordinated manner in case the new Donald Trump administration in US takes any decision that has potential bearing on the Information technology (IT) sector. Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was responding to a query in New Delhi on whether the outcome of the US Presidential elections would have any negative fallout for the Indian tech industry. He said, once Donald Trump assumes office, the matter will be taken up at the Government level. The Minister lauded the role of Indian IT companies in the growth of the US economy. He said, the industry supported over 4 lakh jobs in US last year through American operations. Mr Prasad’s comments come at a time when the 110 billion dollars Indian IT industry is on wait-and-watch mode to see if Donald Trump will convert his anti-outsourcing election campaign slogans into policy action.
