  • Heinous crimes decrease in national capital: Report

    New Delhi: Delhi Police’s strategy to control crime has led to decrease in all heinous crimes in the national capital. According to Delhi Police annual report-2016, the dacoity has been reduced by 39 per cent, robbery by 36 per cent, kidnapping for ransom by 36 per cent and murder by more than 7 per cent.

    The report said, crime against women has also been reduced. It said, the crime mapping shows that incident of crime against women in Delhi are primarily reported from Jhuggi cluster areas, new settlement colonies and the areas where civic amenities are poor and migrant labourers reside.

    The statistics show that rape cases have reduced by 2 per cent and molestation of women by 22.40 per cent.

    The report said, more than six thousand 900 children went missing in 2006 as compared to seven thousand 900 children in the previous year.
