  • Heritage Institute of Technology organized its Second Graduation Ceremony

    On 25th January 2019, Heritage Institute of Technology organized its Second Graduation Ceremony in the Main Auditorium of The Heritage Campus. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Saikat Maitra, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal. Swami Atmapriyananda, Vice-chancellor, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute addressed the programme as the Chief Guest followed by Padma Shri Prof. Ajoy Kumar Ray, Professor, IIT Kharagpur and Prof. (Dr) Suranajn Das, Vice-Chancellor, Jadavpur University as the Guests of Honour.  The programme also witnessed the presence of Shri H.K.Chaudhary, Chairman, Heritage Group of Institutions, Shri Vikram Swarup, Vice-Chairman, Heritage Group of Institutions, Shri P.R.Agarwala, Chairman, Board of Governors, Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata, Dr. Pranay Chaudhuri, Principal, Heritage Institute of Technology and Shri P.K.Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions Kolkata.

    During the inaugural ceremony, Swami Atmapriyanandaji said that Heritage Institute has been contributing immensely towards the development of engineering education in this part of the Country. Moreover Swamiji congratulated the Graduands and prayed to the almighty for their growth and lifelong learning contributing significantly towards the development of the society. He advised the Graduands  to stay away from glamour which is very much misleading nowadays. Prof. Ajoy Kumar Ray also congratulated the Graduands and said that they should accept the upcoming challenges in the society and should contribute significantly for the Nation building. He cited some recent developments in science and technology like Machine learning, artificial intelligence, Robotics and the integration of Machine learning with Biological sciences where the Graduands can play an important role in the future. Dr. Suranjan Das said, “I am confident that the graduates and the post-graduates who will be receiving their degrees will face the new challenges in the society boldly by applying their valuable knowledge gained from this Institute.” He also cited some key issues which are very much relevant to the current scenario like Environmental security, Balanced GDP growth, increase in Gross Enrollment Ratio, improving the Human Development Index of our Country and many more where these Graduands can play a significant role in the future.  Prof. Saikat Maitra, the Vice-Chancellor of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Kolkata and the Chairman of the Second Graduation Ceremony of the Institute said that nowadays Blended Learning curriculum is much more important to teach today’s engineers since it helps them to handle situations which require not only the theoretical knowledge but also the practical applications  of engineering sciences. Moreover he stressed on the fact that now jobs demand skills which support versatility and the curriculum of the engineering colleges should support this so that a prospective engineer should be able to adapt to many different functions and activities of an organization.  He also congratulated the Graduands and advised them to be updated with all the recent changes in the environmental scenarios so that they can grab the new challenges in the job market as the same is continuously changing now and then. Around 231 Graduands in B.Tech and M.Tech from various disciplines received medals and their degrees in this ceremony.
