    Symptoms of Obesity

Obesity is defined as having more weight than is healthy and many people are considered to be obese. Obesity is a very real problem and can be life-threatening. Everybody needs at least some body fat, but when there is too much of it, it can cause a variety of conditions and can even cause death. About 112,000 people die every year in the United States alone because they are obese and patients who have a BMI of over 40 are expected to have a shortened life expectancy.

BMI, also known as body mass index, is a measurement of a person’s weight in kilograms that is divided by his or her height in meters. A person with a BMI of 25-29.9 is considered to be overweight, and someone with a BMI over 30 is considered to be obese. A healthy person should have a BMI of 18.5-24.9. People who are obese may suffer from insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, also known as hypertension, or high cholesterol. People who are obese are also more prone to heart attacks, congestive heart failure, and stroke. They are also more likely to develop cancer. Those who are obese also develop osteoarthritis, gallstones, gout, and sleep apnea. Excessive sweating is common with people who are obese because they have to work much harder to eliminate body heat in order to cool down.

    Excessive Sweating

Many people who are considered to be obese suffer from excessive sweating. It is also called Hyperhidrosis which is the medical term for excessive sweating, and many people suffer from it. An estimated two to three percent of Americans suffer from it to be exact. Sweating will typically occur under the arms, on the palms of the hands, or on the soles of the feet. Sweating is quite embarrassing and will never occur when it is convenient. You may even find that if you suffer from it, you avoid going out in public or you may even avoid social functions because you simply do not want to be embarrassed. It can make everyday tasks more difficult as well such as driving because your hands may make it difficult to grip the steering wheel.

    How to Handle Excessive Sweating

There are a number of ways that you can combat excessive sweating, such as using an antiperspirant deodorant which most likely will contain aluminum chloride. This ingredient makes it more effective over your average antiperspirant or deodorant.

The main cause of obesity is an imbalance in their caloric intake and energy expenditure. In other words, people who are obese tend to eat too many calories and do not exercise enough. A diet that is very high in simple carbohydrates and frequent eating, as well as certain medications, can all cause obesity. Overeating can be caused by stress, boredom, or if you have a disease such as Cushing’s syndrome, you may also find it difficult to maintain a healthy weight. Genetics can play a small part in whether or not someone will be more prone to obesity. If both parents are obese, it is likely that their children will be obese because they will have a leptin deficiency which is vital for controlling a healthy weight level.

The best way to get and maintain a healthy weight is by eating good and nutritious foods as well as exercising regularly. Weight loss surgery is also an option, especially if someone has a substantial amount of weight to lose. Bariatric surgery is one type of surgery, but it is only going to be effective if you eat a healthy diet and exercise. It may be necessary to make some lifestyle changes and to learn how to cook and eat healthy meals. There are also many different kinds of supplements that help to promote weight loss. They normally work by helping to suppress their appetite or to block the absorption of fat or calories.

Obesity is dangerous for your health and can make everyday tasks very difficult to complete. Excessive sweating is just one of the many unwanted and unpleasant side effects of being obese, but there are a number of ways to deal with it so that you don’t have to be embarrassed.
