Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama was made an honorary citizen of Budapest during his seventh visit to the Hungarian capital, where he is on a three-day tour.
He stressed the importance of peace and dialogue as he accepted the honour from Budapest’s mayor Gabor Demszky.
He is due to address a stadium of people Sunday and Monday, he will meet with Hungarian deputies and Laszlo Tokes, a European Parliament vice president.
The Dalai Lama’s last visit to Budapest was in 2000.
