  • IMT Ghaziabad pays tribute to the ‘People’s President’, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

    New Delhi: – Celebrating the spirit of quality education and great leadership, IMT Ghaziabad, India’s premier B-School organized the play- ‘The Importance of being Earnest’ by Oscar Wilde at its New Auditorium. The play was an endeavour to felicitate the IMT IMT-Play_paying-tribute-to-faculty members and pay a tribute to one of the greatest teachers of the century, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

    The play offered an excellent opportunity for the IMT students to showcase their talent in Literature and Dramatics. Conceptualised by Promiti Banerjee, a senior Cultural Committee member and Alister D’Souza, Coordinator of the Cultural Committee, the event received due faculty support by Dr Bhavna Bhalla, Assistant professor, Business Communication and Prof Poonam Garg, Chairperson, Students’ Affairs and Welfare Committee (SAWC) guided the students for its smooth execution. The event witnessed a large presence of IMT students and faculty members who were enthusiastic & excited to be a part of this special occasion and applauded the institute for organizing the program.

    The Cultural Committee paid their homage to the ‘People’s President’, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, who has been a great inspiration for today’s generation as a scientist, a great leader, a world-class author and an excellent teacher.  In addition to his achievements, the students and faculty members spoke about his achievements and reminisced him as one of the greatest Indian leaders and a great teacher.

    Prof Poonam Garg threw light on Dr Kalam’s life and described him as a teacher, motivator and a true gentleman. She said, “Dr. Kalam’s contribution towards strengthening education and technology of the country will be remembered forever. He would always remain in our hearts as ‘People’s President’, a literary legend and his writings will enlighten the nation for years to come.”

    ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ is considered to be Oscar Wilde’s Masterpiece and most highly acclaimed play. The play draws on elements of farce and melodrama in its depiction of a particular social world, which was well-performed by the IMT students.
