    Published on June 30, 2018

India has welcomed the decision of the global financial watchdog Financial Action Task Force, FATF to place Pakistan in the Compliance Document (Grey list) for International Co-operation Review Group, monitoring.

In a statement the Ministry of External Affairs said, Pakistan has given high-level political commitment to implement FATF standards for countering terror financing.

The statement said, the freedom and impunity with which the designated terrorists like Hafiz Saeed and entities like Jamaat-Ud-Dawaa, continue to operate in Pakistan is not in keeping with such commitments.

The MEA hoped that the FATF Action plan shall be complied with and credible measures would be taken by Pakistan to address global concerns related to terrorism emanating from any territory under its control.

The decision of the FATF was taken at its plenary meet in Paris after Pakistan failed to use its three-month grace period to control money laundering and terror financing.
