Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Friday enquired about the health of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth from his wife Latha and said she would pray for his speedy recovery.

“The Chief Minister spoke to Latha Rajinikanth over phone and enquired about his health. Latha apprised the Chief Minister of his health and the treatment he was undergoing (at a private hospital),” an official release in Chennai said.

Wishing the superstar a speedy recovery, Jayalalithaa told Latha that she would pray for his good health, it said.

Rajini had greeted Jayalalithaa on her party’s spectacular victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls on 13th May itself by way of a letter to which she had not only replied but also wished him speedy recovery, as he was not keeping well, the release said.

Rajinikanth, who had suffered from exhaustion on 29th April, the first day of the shoot of his latest venture ‘Raana,’ was later treated for allergic bronchitis and fever.

He was again, on 13th May, admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre and his wife had told reporters on Thursday that he was “doing fine”.
