  • FAIRFAX, VA : Legends Sports Leagues (http://legendssportsleagues.com), an organization providing recreational sports leagues including basketball, baseball, golf and pickleball for both adults and youth since 2006 for Northern Virginia, today announced that it has added its first franchisee to the organization.

Ron Cortese, owner and founder of Legends, said that Aaron Adams of Jamaron, has become the first franchisee and will operate a territory in and around Alexandria, VA.

Legends recently worked with the Boston area firm McGrow Consulting to prepare to offer franchises throughout the region and eventually the United States.

Adams is an avid sportsman who has played basketball for his middle school and high school teams, recreationally and in club settings, and more recently for Legends, for over 30 years. He’s a dedicated basketball coach, who has worked with children from Kindergarten through High School, including winning 10U and 12U Alexandria City Championships with his son Jonah and other great kids from the Maury Elementary School zone.    He was first introduced to Legends by a neighbor in Alexandria around 5 years ago and said he has been hooked ever since.   He has played every season since his first, often on two teams when possible.

He said, “I want to help kids and adults who love to participate in league sports and tournaments to continue to be able to do so in an organized environment where all the logistics are handled and taken care of.  Pick-up games are great but often people want something more organized without the hassle.” He said, “I am pleased to partner with Ron and the Legends team to help make this happen for more people.”

Cortese, Founder of Legends, said, “Aaron is a great addition to the Legends family. As someone who has been a Legends participant, he’s a natural to help sell the concept to others. We look forward to working with him and know he’ll be a great success.”
