New Delhi : A city court in Delhi has convicted a 30 year old man accused of insulting a woman’s modesty by making telephone calls to her since 2006 and using filthy language. He was sentenced to 115 days of imprisonment but he was let off by the judge as he had already spent nearly four months in prison.
Metropolitan Magistrate Kiran Gupa said that considering the age of the accused and his mental condition and the period he had already spent in judicial custody, the accused was released.
The woman had lodged a complaint against the Secunderabad resident alleging that he used to call her atleast 70 times a day. At his request, she met him at the New Delhi railway station but walked into a nearby police station to get him arrested.
