The Marathon was conducted at BRTS Road, Padavalarevu Circle, in the presence of Dr.Ravi Shankar Ayyanar ,IPS – Additional Director General of Police (Law &Order) ,Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada : Manipal Hospitals, Vijayawada, organized a RUN FOR HEALTH marathon at BRTS Road near Gunadala, Vijayawada, in the presence of Honorable Dr.Ravi Shankar Ayyanar ,IPS – Additional Director General of Police (Law &Order) ,Andhra Pradesh today. This initiative is in collaboration with Amaravathi Runners, Red FM and Dr Reddy’s on the occasion of Manipal Hospitals’ 15thanniversary to promote health awareness in the society.

The 10k & 5k run marathon was a big success with more than 1600 people participating. This included citizens of all walks of society of Andhra Pradesh, viz., students, runners, members/personnel from fitness centers, walking clubs, women associations and sports clubs, among others.

Speaking on this occasion, the Chief-guest Dr.Ravi Shankar Ayyanar, IPS – Additional Director General of Police (Law &Order) ,Andhra Pradesh said, “Very happy to be a part of this 5k and 10k run organized by Manipal Hopsital on the occasion of their 15th anniversary of the hospital. I am very happy to see the enthusiasm over here. The importance of being healthy and fit is being emphasised through this run. Its good to see many walkers associations like Amaravathi Runners etc. participating in the event.”

Adding on this, Dr. Sudhakar Kantipudi, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospitals, said, “On the occasion of 15th anniversary, we at Manipal Hospitals put patient care and comfort on priority and we strive towards the betterment of their health, both mentally and physically. We are deeply grateful for everyone who have given us the opportunity to serve them with our clinical expertise. We have achieved great milestones with the help of our doctors and nursing staff, and look forward to succeed and continue to cater our best to everyone.”

Prizes distribution to the winners will be done by Sri. J. Nivas, IAS – Collector & District Magistrate Krishna District and Sri V Prasanna Venkatesh, IAS- Commissioner, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation at event closing ceremony.

The winners of the marathon will be felicitated by Sri VVS LAXMAN, Former Indian Cricketer and Head of NCA with cash prizes at a grand event to be held on 11.12.2021, marking the 15th anniversary celebrations of Manipal Hospitals, Vijayawada.
