  • Manipal University launches leadership programme in interprofessional education

    Mumbai : Manipal University has launched a leadership programme in interprofessional education in partnership with Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), Philadelphia.  The programme was launched at the pressphotouniversity campus by exchanging MoUs in the presence of Ms. Ralf Graves, Associate Director, FAIMER regional institutes and Dr. K Ramnarayan, Vice Chancellor, Manipal University.

    The Manipal University-FAIMER International Institute for Leadership in Interprofessional Education (MUFIILIPE) is a first of its kind two-year fellowship program that emphasizes development of leadership competencies for interprofessional practice (IPP). It provides opportunities for interaction with recognized leaders in IPP, collaboration with peers, and implementation of interprofessional projects.

    The fellowship includes two annual one-week residential sessions at Manipal University, Karnataka, India and two 11-month online learning sessions following the residential sessions. Participants of this program will also receive mentoring and support from experts, faculty, and fellows who will be connected throughout the program and beyond.

    During the launch of the program, Dr. Vinod Bhat, Pro- Vice Chancellor, Manipal University said “We are delighted to partner with FAIMER for a unique program. Through this initiative, we aim to enhance the understanding of interprofessional learning amongst medical practitioners and thereby address the health needs of the community”.

    Dr. Ciraj AM, Course Director, MUFIILIPE, Dr. Surendra Shetty, Pro Vice Chancellor, Manipal University, Dr. Sudhakar Nayak, Director, Manipal Center for Professional and Personal Development and Anand R. Deputy Director, Quality and Compliance, Manipal University were the other dignitaries present at the event.
