Mumbai  : As a part of Meru Cabs Foundation’s initiative to bring about more awareness on the importance of education, Meru announced special scholarships to the bright and promising children of the Driver Subscriber Entrepreneur (DSE)who have performed exceptionally well in their studies at 10th and 12th levels. Shri. Raghunath Bagul, Sr. Police Inspector, Bangur Nagar Police Station presided over the function along with Sri. Siddhartha Pahwa, CEO, Meru Cabs and also felicitated the children and their parents (DSEs) on the occasion.

A total of 22 children were felicitated at the event and a total scholarship amount of over Rs.1 lakh was given away directly in favour of the respective educational institutes where they have taken admission for further education. The scheme aims to honour the bright children of the DSEs who have scored more than 70% marks at standard 10th & 12th level, and also appreciate those DSEs who value the importance of education for their children.

According to Mr. Siddhartha Pahwa, CEO, Meru Cabs, “As an organization, we at Meru have always believed that education forms the founding blocks of a civil society and is especially more important in the formative years of a person’s life. We believe that education will play an important role in shaping the individual’s personality and open up more avenues for personal and professional growth in the long run. We therefore encourage our DSEs to take an active interest in their child’s education and would also like to offer a token amount from our side to encourage them further.”

Meru Cabs has announced the scholarship programme for children of their driver partners in all the cities they currently operate in, as part of their efforts to generate more awareness amongst their DSEs about the importance of education.
