New Delhi  : The students of LPU bring in a revolutionary model which is being displayed for the first time at the First Miniature Park of Lovely Professional University display at Pragati Maidan designed by students (1)33rd India International Trade Fair-2013 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This is the first comparable miniature park made on such a large scale in the country vis a vis the miniature versions of cities, towers, trains, etc. developed and exhibited in countries like Germany, China, Netherlands, United States and many more.

This model is the mini representation of the actual 600-spread acres of ‘LPU Campus.’ The miniature park is envisioned and constructed by students of five different streams and they have work together to accomplish this unique effort of creating the Miniature Park. The 300 square meters Park consists of half of the 60 blocks of the university spread over 600 acres of land modelled at a scale of 1:40.

The design also covers the fine details of the actual buildings and gives a great look and feel of the largest university campuses in India. The highlight of the model is the architecture of the campus including a man-made lake and India’s Largest Open Air Theatre. In the miniature park one can also see a tram running throughout the campus which is another big student project that is being implement in the university. The students plan to expand the model to include the whole of the campus and then add some important Indian and world monuments as an extension.

The university plans to install the whole miniature park later at LPU campus as an exceptional exhibit for the visitors who would come to the university from different parts of India and the world. The design of the model is the brainchild of the LPU students from the disciplines of Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Fine Arts and Animation.

Commenting on the significant innovation, Mr. Ashok Mittal, Chancellor, LPU, said, “LPU is a symbol of inclusive and continuous growth as it has grown over large areas since its inception. I am quite sure that this model from our diligent students will win attention and admiration of the people who would be visiting the trade fair.”

Mr. Mittal added, “I am happy to note that our students have worked day & night to give factual shape to the model. Flooring, lawns, roads are given artistic touch with brushes and painting material. In order to avoid the colossal and weighty form, students have preferred card and ply board. I wish the best of luck to the students and hope that their project gets lot of appreciation from all the visitors.”

The one trade fair, which surpasses all others in terms of importance, magnitude and participation, is the India International Trade Fair (IITF), which is held annually in New Delhi. Celebrating its 33rd run from November 14-27 2013, this year IITF has given special impetus to the theme of “Inclusive Growth”.
