Mumbai : EMDI Institute of Media and Communication (EMDI), a premier events, advertising and PR institute known for best vocational courses in India, (an endeavour of the BSE listed Greycells Education Limited) is host to a Blood Donation Drive at their Lower Parel, Mumbai campus. This donation camp has been organised under the aegis of the Students’ Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) initiative – by students of EMDI events management batch.
Over 60 enthusiastic participants, including students and volunteers from EMDI and other organizations like Quikr, Procam International have signed up to participate in this noble cause. Within the first ten minutes, three bottles of blood were already collected, which means nine lives will benefit from the same. Due care of hygiene and safety factors were taken care of by the Prince Aly Khan Hospital and blood was only collected after the donors passed through preliminary medical tests like Blood Pressure, HB, weight-check, etc. The camp concluded with the donors being served tea, coffee, juice and snacks.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonali Agnihotri, Chief Operating Officer of EMDI highlighted the significance behind this initiative. She emphasised the importance of blood donation and how it can save thousands of lives. Blood Donation is a noble cause and every blood donor has contributed towards community development. We thank our SWAT team and the donors for their participation, she added further.
The SWAT team also visited The Vatsalya Foundation, spreading cheer and gifts among the street children at the Foundation. Students from PR, Events and Advertising with the SWAT team played games and interacted with over 50 children at the foundation. After a healthy treat they distributed gifts. All in all, a very fulfilling day for everyone!
