  • Narayana Health City gives a new lease of life to a 35 year old teacher from Tirupathur

    Bengaluru : 35 year old teacher from Tirupathur got a new lease of life as he underwent a heart transplant at Narayana Health City recently. The donor was a 32 year old male hailing from Karnataka. The heart was retrieved at Apollo Hospital, BG Road and was transported to Narayana Health City, Hosur Road.

    Hailing from Tirupathur, Vellore District, the recipient is a 32 year old man suffering from heart failure. He was on medical management at Narayana Health City since 2 months and was later advised to undergo a heart transplant. He was registered with Jeevasarthakate in the month of August 2018 and was waiting for a matching donor’s heart.

    The retrieval and transplant of the heart was carried out by the team of doctors including Dr Bagirath Raghuraman & Dr Julius Punnen. His treatment was covered under Government of Tamil Nadu’s, Chief Minister’s comprehensive health insurance scheme.
