  • NATO-led forces kill 5 in Afghanistan

    At least five militants were killed today in an air strike by NATO-led coalition forces in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan.

    The incident took place in Danglam district when militants attacked a convoy of coalition and Afghan National Army forces, the police said. He said two others were wounded in the incident.

    Danglam is hit by violence and previously Afghan and foreign forces have launched military operations there to clear it of militants.

    In another incident, security forces raided a Taliban hideout and eliminated two militants, including a shadowy district chief in northern Kunduz province.

    Meanwhile, one foreign soldier was killed in a roadside bomb blast in southern Afghanistan on Friday.
